KIIT Law School Hosts First Judges Conference

Bhubaneshwar: The first lecture under the Judges Lecture Series, organized by KIIT Law School (KLS), was delivered by Hon. Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, President of Lokpal of India on March 26, 2022.

Speaking on the topic “Role and Importance of Lokpal in India”, Justice Ghose said, “The public has a bigger role to play in fighting corruption. We all need to change our mindsets. Corruption is like a termite and we have to stem it. Such moral values should be ingrained in our minds. Lokpal must be empowered to act against the threat of lobbying. It should also have the power to deal with conflicts of interest and issues related to whistleblowers”.

Lokpal is an anti-corruption authority representing the public interest in the country. It consists of a president and eight members, half of whom are judicial members.
