Contender Prem’s plans evolve as Rangnick enacts law on Dean Henderson’s demand to quit

Ralf Rangick immediately turned down a transfer request from Dean Henderson, with the interim Manchester United boss making his plans for the frustrated goalkeeper clear.

The England stopper has only appeared twice in all competitions so far this season, and according to the latest reports he is keen on a change of scenery to get more consistent playing time under his belt.

Henderson and David de Gea shared the duties of goalkeeper at Old Trafford last season. However, the Spaniard has been remarkable this campaign and has proven to be virtually unbeatable.

De Gea has started every Premier League outing this quarter, although Henderson was not helped by starting the new campaign with Covid – leaving his rival in pole position to claim the place again.

Now Henderson has had enough and officially asked to leave.

The goalkeeper was not part of the United squad that edged Aston Villa on Monday night. And now his absence has been explained by Rangnick, who is adamant United have no plans to let him go.

“A few weeks ago he asked me [if he could leave] but I told him I would prefer him to stay until the end of the season, ”Rangnick said talk about SPORT.

“We are very happy with our goalkeepers but if it is up to me, I would not want him to leave”, he added before reiterating the importance of having “more than one better shooter at the club”.

However, Henderson is unlikely to give up his efforts to leave, despite Rangnick’s rejection of his request.

The keeper is under contract with Old Trafford until 2025. So at this point United are under no pressure to sell.

However, things could get tricky if Henderson continues to walk away.

Tottenham are monitoring Dean Henderson’s situation

The likes of Ajax and Newcastle are said to be interested in a move for the England keeper.

However, the Manchester Evening News raises the possibility of a possible move to Tottenham.

Their longtime No.1 and club captain Hugo Lloris is in the final six months of his contract. As such, it is now free to open discussions with interested foreign clubs.

Thus, the Ligue 1 team Rennes is one of those who would have laid their eyes on the n ° 1 of France.

And while Spurs are keen to secure Lloris a new deal, they are aware he could choose to leave.

This will leave Antonio Conte and Co looking for a successor. And while Jordan Pickford has been mentioned, the MEN believe Henderson is their primary target.

As such, it’s north London that is most likely to melt for Henderson right now and is apparently willing to spend big to land his man.
