Bureau of Land Management Nevada issues notice of sale of oil and gas leases

RenoNV — Following a injunction of the Western District of Louisiana, the Bureau of Land Management Nevada State Office today issued a Final Environmental Assessment and Notice of Sale for the June 14, 2022 Oil and Gas Lease Sale.

Today’s advice incorporates Home Office recommendations Federal Oil and Gas Leasing Program Reportas well as other reports published by the Governmental Accountability Office and the Congressional Budget Office.

The BLM is applying a first-ever increased royalty rate of 18.75% for leases sold under current competitive lease sales, consistent with rates charged by states and private landowners.

BLM Nevada State Office will move forward with Alternative B, as analyzed in the Environmental Assessment (DOI-BLM-NV-B000-2021-0007-OTHER_NEPA), offering 5 parcels totaling 2 560 acres in Nye County on public lands managed by the Battle Mountain District Office. The plots will be offered during the online sale of oil and gas leases scheduled for June 14, 2022; the sale is available on www.energynet.com; the packages can also be viewed on the EnergyNet website approximately 10 days after the Competitive Lease Sale Notice was posted today on BLM Nevada’s Oil and Gas webpage at https:/ /www.blm.gov/programs/energy-and-minerals/petrole-et-gaz/location/location-ventes-regionales/nevada.

Additionally, today’s publication of the notice of sale triggers a 30-day public protest period that ends May 18, 2022. You can lodge a protest by hand delivery, by fax or by post in paper form. You can DO NOT lodge a protest by e-mail. A protest filed by facsimile should be sent to (775) 861-6606. We will reject a protest sent to a fax number other than the identified fax number or a protest filed by email. BLM must receive all protests by 4:00 p.m., May 18, 2022
