LAKEWOOD, Colorado. – Following a injunction of the Western District of Louisiana, the Bureau of Land Management Colorado State Office today conducted a lease sale offering six parcels totaling 2,444.13 acres in Weld, Jackson, Moffat and Rio Blanco counties on public lands managed by the Rocky Mountain and Northwest District Offices. 3 plots were sold for a total of $1,201,794.50. The highest bidder was DPOC, LLC with an offer of $10,002/acre on a parcel in Weld County.

The plots offered for sale reflect the recommendations of the Ministry of the Interior Federal Oil and Gas Leasing Program Report, as well as other reports published by the Governmental Accountability Office and the Congressional Budget Office; input from tribal consultation and environmental review; and resolution of protests received.

In this competitive lease sale, the BLM applied a first-ever increased royalty rate of 18.75% for sold leases, consistent with rates charged by states and private landowners.
