Bureau of Land Management Appoints New Field Director for Stillwater

Carson City, Nevada – Jake Vialpando has been appointed the new Carson City District Field Manager, Stillwater Field Office.

Vialpando started his career as a Range Conservationist Cooperative student with the BLM Boise district. Most of Vialpando’s career has been spent in the Owyhee field office where he worked as a course management specialist, wild horse and terrier specialist, and course management oversight specialist. . Vialpando has experience as a wildland firefighter and worked as the District Renewable Resources Coordinator with the BLM High Desert District in Rock Springs, WY, before returning to Boise where he was the project manager of the Idaho Grazing License Renewal Team (GPRT). In 2014, Vialpando moved to Reno where he served as GPRT supervisor. Vialpando has been Stillwater’s Interim Field Manager since January 2021.

Vialpando is originally from Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in Rangeland Management / Ecology. Vialpando’s time away from work is spent with family and bow hunting.
